About

The United Churches Worldwide Fellowship is not a denomination or religious sect. The United Churches Worldwide Fellowship is distinctly a Fellowship as defined herein:

A Fellowship, which embraces all ministries, churches, individuals, or other constituents that acknowledge and accept Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

The Fellowship is inclusive to all baptized believers who acknowledge and accept the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

The Fellowship is in communion with all who agree and are willing to abide by the set forth structure outlined both in the vision of the Fellowship, and the policies implemented thereof.

We believe in the autonomy of the Local Church and respect it as such. Those who are members of the Fellowship do not have to change the name of the church where they worship, but it is believed and expected that the church should claim and/or announce its affiliation or membership to the Fellowship.

History

On September 4, 2005 Bishop Sylvester McGee and Bishop Willie Foster Jr met with the idea of stepping out on faith and creating a worldwide fellowship to aid pastors of small churches who may have limited resources in spreading the Gospel of Christ. The inspiration for this endeavor was the Apostle Paul, who in Acts 16: 4-5 states,

And as they went through the cities they delivered them the decree, for to keep that were ordained of the apostles and elders in Jerusalem. And so were the churches established in the faith and increased in numbers daily”.

Under the name of Southwest Founders District of Dallas, Texas and Worldwide they began to build a wall (Nehemiah 4:6, So we built the wall and the entire wall was joined together up to half its’ height, for the people had a mind to work) to ensure that the churches involved would have the ability to grow and flourish in the work of the Lord.

This vision included a proposal to buy or build a revival center to enhance the memberships’ number of souls dedicated to evangelism. A credit union was an additional facility that was to be developed to help pastors and members with loans for ministry expansion or financial hardships.

Guest churches were Saints Eternity COGIC-Pastor L Willis, Greater New Zion COGIC-Pastor C. Hopkins, True Foundation Full Gospel Baptist Church—Pastor W. B. Foster, Refiners Fire Worship Center—Pastor D. Harrison and The Ark Church—Evangelist Coleman. The introduction of the speaker was Bishop Sylvester McGee and the Spoken World was by Bishop W. Foster Jr.

Initially, there were only two pastors and churches at the fellowships’ original convocation in 2005:
Bishop Sylvester McGee
· East Gate COGIC

Bishop Willie Foster Jr
· Holy Ghost Outreach Ministries

At the completion of the gathering, two more churches were added:
Pastor Douglas Harrison

· Refiner’s Fire Worship Center

Pastor Whitney B Foster
· True Foundation Full Gospel Missionary Church

October 1, 2005 the first charter member meeting was held in Dallas, Tx. The topic of discussions included how to convey/communicate their vision to other churches and evaluate the plans for establishing convocations and musicals that would be held yearly. Their focus was on coming together in faith and supporting one another in love. Their theme was “Together We Can”.

Following the meeting, the Assumed Name Record of Certification of Ownership was created and sealed by a Notary Public in the presence of Bishop Sylvester McGee, Bishop Willie Foster Jr, Pastor Douglas Harrison, and Pastor Whitney B Foster.

October 7, 2005, the document was filed by Bishop Willie Foster Jr at the Dallas County Clerk Office at 509 Main St, Dallas, Tx.

For the year 2006, emphasis was placed on spiritual growth and many pastors and friends came to support them in the vision.

Beginning in 2007, they continued to pray and believe God that faith was still in progress. The Lord began to add pastors and churches to this visionary group.

June 2007, Pastor Henry Brown of Lighthouse Fellowship church joined Southwest Founders District.

Shortly afterward the name was changed to United Churches Worldwide by a vote which was moved and seconded in August 2007.

September 2007, Bishop Ivory Stafford of Tabernacle of Faith Community church was given his certification of membership under United Churches Worldwide.

December 2007, Bishop Allen Richardson,  of Redeeming Love Cathedral of Praise was given his certification of membership under United Churches Worldwide, along with Pastor Larry Johnson of Love Fellowship Church.

2008 found the fellowship committed to prayer and believed God for more increase in their territory, as in the Prayer of Jabez (1 Chronicles 4: 10).

In March 2008, Bishop Ivory Stafford and Bishop Douglas Harrison were ordained as Bishops by Presiding Prelate Bishop McGee and second Presiding Bishop Foster and the witnesses were pastors of the fellowship and members of United Churches Worldwide.

On June 4, 2008 Pastor and First Lady Riley of Christians Believers received their certification of membership under United Churches Worldwide.
United Churches Worldwide Policy and Procedure 1st Vision was updated by the 3rd Presiding Bishop Ivory Stafford in August 2008.

March 2009, Bishop Willie Foster Jr resigned as 2nd Presiding Bishop.

At a business meeting at the Sterling Hotel on March 7, 2009, it was moved by Bishop Whitney Foster and seconded by Bishop Douglas Harrison that Bishop Ivory Stafford be moved to 2nd presiding bishop and that a 3rd was not necessary. The motion was passed unanimously by all members present.

United Churches Worldwide Fellowship Inc was issued their Certificate of Formation and certificate of filing evidencing the existence of their newly created nonprofit corporation on May 20, 2009, from the Office of the Secretary of State of Texas (Austin, Tx).

Currently, United Churches Worldwide looks forward to whatever God has in store for the visionaries and the vision.
